Why are people so pissed about the whole Colton Haynes Holloween costume thing? How does dressing up as Gandhi, who was an amazing civil rights leader, make him racist in any way shape or form? He wasn’t making fun of him at all. As for the usage of Blackface… was he supposed to be an INDIAN while he was white?

Because the world today does not exist in a vaccum, and blackface has a negative history. And he’s done this shit before, so he can’t even claim not knowing it/doing it unintentionally.
Halloween does not give him the excuse to wear my skin colour as his costume. Yes he could’ve still been Gandhi while being white, and heck that would’ve have been the better decent option.
And if you still don’t see a problem, then you’re racist too.
The only reason blackface has a negative history is because whites used to smear on layers and layers and perform stereotypical acts of black people, making them look moronic, to get laughs out of other ignorant whites. Did Colton do that? No. So why is him dressing up as someone of a different race who inspires him wrong?
And I find it pretty ballsy of you to claim I’m racist when I have so many different races in my heritage. Racism is stating that one race is superior to another simply because of race or showing prejudice to a certain race for the same reason, which neither I nor Colton have done.
